A milestone for Absora: We secure 1.25 million euros for the revolution of metal construction

Fresh capital for our vision: With Absora-sheet, we want to become the “Kleenex of metal construction”.

We are thrilled to officially announce: Absora has successfully closed its pre-seed financing round! With a total of 1.25 million euros in fresh capital behind us, we can now take the next big step and drive the industrialization of our technology.

Convinced by the “new sheet metal”

Over the past months, we have worked intensively to present our vision and our product to potential investors. The result makes us proud: we were able to convince renowned investors that our technology solves real problems. Instead of elaborate, heavy, and retrofitted insulation, our patented micro-perforation material Absora-sheet offers a solution that is built directly into the component. That experienced investors recognize and support this potential is the finest confirmation for us.

What makes Absora-sheet so special

Our core product Absora-sheet is more than just sheet metal. It combines three properties that are often mutually exclusive in metal construction:

Highly efficient sound absorption (it gets quieter).
Reduced flow resistance (air flows better).
Lightweight construction (it saves weight and material).

And best of all: we can often produce this high-tech material more cost-effectively than conventional solutions. This hits exactly the nerve of our time, as the demands for noise protection and energy efficiency are rising worldwide.

Our roots: high-tech from Bopfingen

We are not a classic software startup from Berlin or Silicon Valley. Our innovation comes “from the ground up” – more precisely, from the workshop in Bopfingen. Our CTO Johannes Härle spent over ten years tinkering with its development. In doing so, he continues a family tradition: his father Hans A. Härle was already a pioneer of technical solutions such as soot particle filters. From first ideas in the family workshop, Johannes developed an industrially scalable process. Together with our CEO Dr. Johannes Kotte and the entire team, we are now bringing this technology to the wider market.

Looking ahead: industrialization

Our goal is ambitious, but clear: we want our material Absora-sheet to become the standard everywhere conventional sheet metal is still used today. Johannes Kotte put it aptly: “We want to become the Kleenex of metal construction.”

With the new financing, we can scale our production and professionalize our processes to serve the growing demand from diverse industries such as mechanical engineering, the automotive industry, or the HVAC industry.
