Project Proteus: As part of this project, ABSORA GmbH is researching innovative, multi-stage manufacturing processes for micro-perforated metamaterials (Absora-sheet). The goal is to develop a modular system for highly efficient production, replacing conventional absorbers with sustainable, 100% recyclable metal solutions. The expected results are the validation of series production and the strengthening of the circular economy in Berlin.

SPRIND funding

As part of the SPRIND-funded project, the properties of a novel metallic metamaterial are being comprehensively characterised and the underlying manufacturing process validated. The aim is to fully unlock the technology's potential through experimental studies and simulation-based optimisation, laying the foundation for its use in a wide range of industrial applications. This is intended to decisively accelerate the development of the innovation.
